Who We Are

The “Writers in Schools” website is a World Wide Website for literary education developed by the PEN/Faulkner Foundation for the benefit of teachers, students, and readers. Materials featured on this website were prepared by staff and volunteers of PEN/Faulkner, and, in some instances, in collaboration with students and faculty of The George Washington University.

Materials featured on the “Writers in Schools” site do not offer a complete curriculum for the teaching of any book, nor does PEN/Faulkner intend to provide a definitive statement on how books should be taught. The site and its curricular materials do not prescribe a specific course of study nor advocate any educational theory. The materials are intended to be an educational resource for teachers, parents, and students, and to support the use of specific works of literature in secondary classrooms.

The PEN/Faulkner Foundation reserves the right to terminate any link or linking program at any time.
